Ανακοινώθηκαν πριν από λίγο οι υποψηφιότητες για όλες τις κατηγορίες των φετινών βραβείων Όσκαρ, με το The Power of the Dog να συγκεντρώνει τον μεγαλύτερο αριθμό (12), το Dune να ακολουθεί με 10 και τα Belfast και West Side Story να ακολουθούν με 7. Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι το αμφιλεγόμενο Don’t Look Up της Netflix έχει πάρει μερικές υποψηφιότητες, με σημαντικότερη όλων αυτήν της υποψήφιας καλύτερης ταινίας. Η φετινή τελετή απονομής θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 27 Μαρτίου 2022.
